4.5 lbs and 11 weeks to go!

Last night we had a 3D/4D ultrasound done of Ms. Addison! It was awesome! I have never seen anything like it - it was like being in there with her! She is precious! Looks like as of yesterday, she weighs 4.5 lbs at least, which will put her well over 9 pounds if she goes full term. WOW!!!!! She has the cutest little cheeks!, big puffy lips, precious fingers and toes! We all enjoyed visiting in her world even if it was just for a little while!!! Can't wait to meet her!!!

July 27, 2009- our little girl

Today (7/27/09), we had a doctor visit.... I am amazed as I was with each of the children how exciting it is to hear the heartbeat each and everytime. Today was no different. To hear and see her inside of me growing so big is amazing! An absolute blessing. We were at the doctor and we did the 20 week ultrasound first- she is measuring big. It was discovered that she is probably around a pound at this visit. That is big!!! We will be scheduled to have another ultrasound at 32 weeks! Looking forward to that for sure!!!! The boys and Grammy were there as well! Todd stepped out and they got to come in and see their sister! They love to see her moving around and growing inside of me. I think that it makes it more "real" to see her. We followed up with a doctor visit where we heard her heartbeat (153)! She is going to be a blessing to this family- we are all excited!!!

Summertime

Pictured- S's First Day of Three year old Preschool:

What an exciting year we had! At the beginning of school, S was unsure of what this preschool thing was all about. He did not want to do carpool, wanted to be walked in- excuse me, carried in and dropped off! He would cry and not want me to leave. By the end of the year, we were doing carpool everyday with an "Mom, I love you - you are beautiful" as he jumped out of the car. Of course, I was yelling as he ran in the building, "S, I love you too, you are handsome!" The teachers and all the other moms would die each and every time he said this! It is too precious! He had a great year at school: he learned all of his letters, numbers and even can count to 30 on his own. He is learning Spanish, computers and loves to take music. He loves his friends and he adores his teachers! He loved earning his honeypots- 3 honeypots= treat!!!! He loved bringing home his folder each week in hopes of getting a star at karate for his good behavior!

We have watched him grow up to be this energetic, fun-loving, high energy 4 year old. He is hilarious and fun! We enjoy his enthusiasm for everything, but have a hard time keeping up with him! He brings us so much joy and we cannot wait to see what he will bring to the table each and every day! This is going to be a summer to remember! Off to K-4 in the Fall!

Pictured: B in his cub scout uniform
WOW! What a year first grade has been! B just blossomed into this young, independent little man. Of course, I still made him kiss me every single day before I would let him get out of the car at carpool. This year, B became in incredible reader. He finished 1st grade on a 4.5 level- that is amazing for a 7 year old! He loves his teacher (and so did we), his friends and his life. He is a first grader, a cub scout, a piano player, a musician, a singer, a baseball player, a soccer player, a yellow belt in karate, a tennis player, a swimmer, a friend, an animal lover, a tender hearted- loving little boy, a dreamer, a tooth looser, an award winner and a terrific young man! It has been out pleasure to watch him grow up this year! We are so proud of him and all that his has accomplished. I think we are most proud of his tender heart and the love that he has for everyone around him. I sure cannot wait to see what gift of his he will bestow on this world. It is going to be amazing. Sometimes you just know that someone is really going to do something special with their lives and each day I am reminded that my B will be doing great things!
We have enjoyed watching him be tender hearted, loving and kind to everyone! We love to watch him contemplate something new and once he decides to try it and succeeds- We love to see that smile! He truly has pure joy in his heart when he proves to himself that he CAN do anything he wants! Priceless

Note to self....

Be ready to expect the unexpected.

We went on Tuesday (May 5) for our first ultrasound. All was going well or so we thought until they gave us the unexpected news. Apparently I have an implantation bleed and my bloodwork showed that my antibodies are low. They constantly reassured us that both are normal and we should not worry. They will be watching me closely! Of course, the type A person that I am could not be happy with that! I had to come home and look up those items on the internet! That was a no- no! The internet got all in my head, making me think the worst could happen! Then something else entered my mind! I was reminded that I am not in control! This was not my plan, not my miracle! This is God's plan, God's miracle. WOW! What peace I have now, knowing that I don't control any of this. GOD DOES!!!! I heard a song today that says, "I will praise you while I'm waiting."- This is what I can do! I can stop worrying and use all that energy in a more effective way!

Quotable Quotes:

This has been the funniest time around our house! The boys have come up with some wild things to say and some crazy things that they are thinking in their heads. I will update this throughout our pregnancy so that we have it all documented.

April 21, 2009- S said "will mommy's tummy explode and the baby just fly out?"
S- "will the drs just use a bunch of knives and cut the baby out?"
B- "I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE BABY!!!" (Daily he screams this one)

April 22, 2009- I was getting my bath and B walked in- not "hi mom" or anything- just a precious "How's our baby?" I told him that I was not sure how is he today and he said "Not me, the baby in your tummy!" (insert HUGE smile)

April 24, 2009- B is home with pink eye so why not get comfortable right? right! So I go get in my jammies since we will be home for the day and B says, "Those PJ's look good with the baby!"

More to come!!!

May 3, 2009- The boys are arguing about whether the baby will be a boy or girl and B says, "Has the gender been unleashed, yet?" We are assuming he wants to know if it is a boy or girl? I have never heard it put that way.... Just for the record, B wants a Girl and S wants a Boy!!!

July 3, 2209- S told his Grammy that "when the baby gets her he must be careful with her, because she is going to be pregnant." What he actually meant is that she will be fragile. We keep remind him how fragile little ones are!! TOO CUTE!

June 30, 2009- we had an ultrasound and the boys were thrilled to see their baby sister. S told us "that even though everyone knows I wanted a baby brother, I will be happy with a baby sister as well!"

B- told us with Sully that he did not want a baby sister and he got a brother! This entire pregnancy he has said he wants a sister- looks like he is right again!!!
Impressive!

July 13, 2009- when I got home from my dr's appt this morning....the boys meet me at the door screaming - "WHAT IS HER NAME, TELL US????" They are so excited about their sister.

July 13, 2009- S keeps telling everyone that when the baby gets her "she will be pregnant"- because we keep telling him that when the baby gets here she will be Fragile. He climbs on me and everyone tells him I am fragile!!! Too cute!

July 13, 2009- B found me looking at baby stuff AGAIN. "Mom, why do you keep looking at all of those girlie beds?" guess he better get used to it!

July 29, 2009- S came in one morning and was upset and crying. I said "what is wrong?" and S said through his tears' "will you still love me when the baby gets here?" ABSOLUTELY!!!!! broke my heart!!!! we are going to have to help him find his place in this family....always special!!!

Time to tell.....

It wasn't suppose to be exactly like this, but excitement took over and I spilled the beans. I planned on telling the boys tonight and to see what they thought until Grammy and Grandaddy showed up at Karate and tonight just seemed like the right time to tell everyone our big "secret." The boys are THRILLED!!!!!!!!!! Big brother is the most excited I have seen him in forever! He cannot wait to do this again! He was only 2 (almost 3) when the little man arrived. The little, soon to be big, brother is so excited!!! He is already asking if he can be there at the hospital when the baby pops out of my tummy? Do they use knives to cut it out? Will Mommy's tummy just exploded and the baby will fly out? What does he watch on TV!!!! If I wasn't so tired, I should probably pay more attention to that!!! My mom cried! She thought our little one would be the last of the grandbabies...but not quite! Todd's mom, MeMa, is thrilled as well! It is going to be exciting around here- never a dull moment! Now that they boys know, this will proabably be the longest 9 mths of my life! I cannot wait to soak it all up with them and include them in every moment! Oh, they are also weighing in on names and brother or sister!! We have a vote for a sister and 1 vote for a brother! We shall see!

The title

For those who know me, there is no other appropriate title! My poor family did not get a mom that cooks! It is just not in my genes. We eat out ALL the time and that seems to suit everyone just fine. It is still family dinnertime, we are all together! I am just practicing for when the new little one gets here- we will soon be two adults, two children and a high chair!!!

December 20, 2009

Sometimes we think we have it all figured out! Atleast, I thought I did! We were moving out of diapers, sippy cups, sleepless nights, and all the stuff that comes with little ones. We even bought the family fun car for the four of us! Then God smiled and laughed! I am sure He thought there they go again thinking they know everything! I will show them I am in charge and I have something special in mind for them. Well, looks like baby number three is on the way! We are so excited! To be honest, we were a bit shocked last Friday (4/10/2009) when I took the pregnancy test and it came back positive. So shocked in fact, that I went and bought another one to take again on Saturday! It has now sunk in and we are thrilled! We have two awesome, energetic boys who are going to be so thrilled when we share this news with them. I think I will wait a while or this will be the longest pregnancy in history! It is going to feel like forever since we found out we were expecting when I was only 5 weeks along! I will pray for patience as we go through the next several months.

Today our youngest brought a note home from school that the school has a confirmed case of Fifths disease. I had to call the dr and am going in for blood testing on Thursday. They want to confirm that I have the antibodies needed to fight it if need be so the fetus will not be harmed.

*Update- got the all clear from the Dr- I have been exposed before and I have the needed antibodies against Fifths Disease*
